Manufacturing Process

Our joiner selects his timber from the rack, looking to ensure that the grain and patina match and there are no defects.

The selected timber is machined into the various components required.

The components are assembled at his workbench. Final fitting adjustments are made using hand planes and wood chisels.

The finished furniture goes into our stock holding.

When an order is received the piece is picked from stock. The furniture is then checked over to ensure no defects have been missed and it is sanded to a final smooth finish.

The sanded furniture is then spayed with our own water based stain and then left to dry.

Once dried our waxers apply 2 coats of briwax by hand. Once dried the furniture is buffed to a shine by hand and the knobs are screwed into place.
